Oysters is one of the finest establishments to open its doors in Tyrone in recent years, led at the helm by local husband and wife team, Kevin & Caroline Clarke. Since its inception in 2007, the restaurant has matured magnificently from its origins as a bistro venue to a more evidently defined fine-dining restaurant, catapulted in more recent times into the dining spotlight by its ever-growing list of accolades and award acquisitions. The ethos at Oysters is to strive to create an environment where exquisite food and select wines, enhanced by exceptional customer service creates a memorable and unparalleled dining experience.
Seasonally-led menus are updated regularly to reflect the availability of local foods – meat from local butcher, Mc Carrons Butchers, Raphoe (also an award winning beef breeder), fish fresh from Greencastle Fish Market / Burtonport Harbour, game sourced from Baronscourt Gaming Estate, organic ice-cream from Glastry Farm, Fruit & Vegetables from Season Harvest, Claudy. Chef’s ‘Speciality Dishes’ inject an added dynamism to the evening Á la Carte Menu, with desserts, breads and truffles produced daily by the patisserie chef. 2011 heralded the launch of a new retail range of specialist breads, jams, chutneys and dressings. A carefully selected wine list represents excellent value and choice.
Benefiting from its proximity to the local theatre, Oysters has been honoured to host a number of celebrity diners, reflected in photos available for viewing both at the entrance to the restaurant, and within Oysters’s Facebook gallery. It is always a delight for diners to find themselves seated next to an impromptu visit by a celebrity diner pre-performance. You just never know who might be dining at the next table!!!
